Are You Ready for the Future of Work?

The Future Skills Programme has been designed using our experience in supporting women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing (STEM) in addition to running skills and capacity building programmes.

The Future Skills Programme was an online, self-paced and interactive course that kicked off in July 2021 and ended in August 2021. The programme was open to women in the engineering profession across sub-Saharan Africa , and was an opportunity to reskill, upskill and prepare for the future of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. The aim was to create a sustainable support ecosystem for the engineering workforce to thrive through engineering education on emerging technologies.

The Future Skills Programme contained two (2) courses, Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, and covered the following five (5) modules per course:

Artificial Intelligence:

  1. Digital Disruption

  2. An Introduction to AI

  3. Components of Building an AI System

  4. Gender/Inclusivity in AI

  5. Getting Involved in AI

Cybersecurity:

  1. Introduction to Cybersecurity.

  2. Keeping Yourself Safe Online.

  3. Keeping Your Organisation Safe.

  4. Recovering When a Threat Has Been Found.  

  5. Getting Involved in Cybersecurity
