LaunchPad

LaunchPad introduces the girl child to the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing (STEM) and aims to break stereotypes about the industry that have been embedded at an early age. LaunchPad provides the foundation for WomEng’s #1MillionGirlsInSTEM campaign which aims to create STEM awareness globally. WomEng has developed an open-source toolkit which enables passionate ambassadors globally to run these workshops in their local geographies.

GirlEng

GirlEng creates awareness and makes STEM fun, engaging and relatable to primary and secondary school girls. The GirlEng mission is to attract and mentor girls into STEM related fields. This is done through gamification and build programmes translating maths and science into everyday challenges. In 2014, our first cohort of GirlEng’ers graduated as engineers in South Africa.

Fellowship

Fellowship is our flagship partner programme. Fellowship is our annual technical innovation entrepreneurial challenge (venture lab) and employability programme for the best and brightest female engineering students to find solutions to global challenges and develop and prepare for industry. Currently, Fellowship is run in South Africa. Our vision is to develop a Pan-African Fellowship, fostering skills across Africa. A scaled leadership challenge is run in a number of countries including, but not limited to, Colombia, USA, Brazil, Mexico, UK, Indonesia and Malawi.

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is our latest evolution. WomEng has been working to unlock potential by supporting women all along the engineering value chain. We understand the pivotal role female entrepreneurs can unlock in a global STEM economy, and the impact of job creation and economic recover women entrepreneurs play. We design and run incubators and accelerators for women in STEM, delivered through our spin-out company WomHub.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is at the helm of our work. We provide consulting and advisory as well as training. Our workshop series is unique in that it uses integrated active learning methodology and ontological coaching to ensure effective participation and learning for participants.

New Technology

New Technology is increasing the way we are living in a virtual world, however, as the physical world was not designed by and with the needs of women, so too is the virtual one. We are focused on Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and cybersecurity to support the attraction and development of women into the latest technology fields.

#1MillionGirlsinSTEM

#1MillionGirlsinSTEM is our 10-year global campaign, initiated in 2017 at the UN Headquarters, to reach 1 million girls (aged 13 – 17) through STEM education and awareness initiatives. This programme is in collaboration with UNESCO.
