2023 De Beers Virtual #AskAnEngineer Series

The Ask An Engineer Virtual Series in partnership with De Beers Group, Debmarine-Namdeb Foundation, and Debswana is an opportunity for high school girls to engage with professionals in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) space.

The Programme will host two (2) virtual sessions on Zoom in May 2023. The learners will get to meet with multiple female STEM professionals from Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa who will share their career journeys, share tips on applying for STEM degrees/diplomas, and answer burning questions.

Each session hosts 4–5 engineering and technology professionals from various disciplines. Participants are required to attend only one (1) session.

Key Concepts to Be Covered:

• Career choices

• Introduction to the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)

• Self-awareness & self-worth

Time: 10h00–11h30 GMT+2

Target Audience: High school girls in Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa between the ages of 14–18 years old.

This event will be hosted on Zoom.

Requirements

Participants need to download the Zoom (zoom.us) app. This can be accessed by downloading the app on your mobile device or computer/laptop. Please familiarize yourself with the platform before the event.
