WomEng (Women in Engineering), previously known as SAWomEng, is a non-profit organisation based in South Africa. Since 2006, the organisation has been at the forefront of tackling issues regarding gender gaps in the engineering sector.
WomEng operates in South Africa and Kenya and will be expanding its reach to other countries across the globe. We are looking to recruit 3 interns to be based in the Cape Town office to work on the WomEng flagship program, Fellowship Week.
The WomEng Fellowship is for the best and brightest female engineering students to find engineering solutions to global challenges in order to develop and prepare for industry. WomEng Fellows are given the opportunity to attend business and entrepreneurial upscaling workshops, meet sponsors and potential employers as well as network with their peers and industry members in engineering to engage in pertinent topics affecting the engineering industry.
The internships are unpaid positions with a 3-month commitment. All the interns will be expected to stay in the hotel during the Fellowship Week, 6-10 July 2015, along with the top engineers in South Africa. Ideal interns would be working on the following activities:
- Logistics manager
- To manage all relevant bookings
- Event co-ordination
- To prepare each venue before events
- Must have own car and license.
We are looking for passionate individuals that are interested in gaining work experience, learning from and networking with the top thought leaders in Africa while contributing to the development of girls and women in the engineering sector.
